May this “pick-up line” speak of our Passion…!

Pick-up lines ???

Kahit gaano tayo ka-slow, ‘di na uso na di natin ma-gets ang ibig sabihin. Mas maraming pick-up lines, mas mahabang usapan, mas enjoy ang samahan … tama po ba? …

On the contrary, for our past four gospel readings, Jesus has been throwing His “pick-up lines” hoping that more people will follow Him after He fed thousands of them with those five loaves & two fishes. But so sad that in this last part of John’s Gospel, tuluyan nang hindi na-gets ng mga tao ang “pick-up lines” ni Jesus kaya karamihan sa kanila ay tuluyan nang umalis at hindi  na sumunod pa.

Jesus was left, asking His 12 Disciples:  67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?”
Putting into picture such scenario, we would surely doubt if it would still be a right decision not to leave when everybody has taken aback. Jesus’ question was another indirect test, if the 12 Disciples would still stay. Sad thing if they would say that they are also leaving, but still, Jesus gave them the choice. Mabuti na lang, may isang Simon Peter who assured Jesus that they came because they believed that He has the words of eternal life. They already had the “passion” to continue the mission that they were trained in. The thing in our real-time scenario is, sometimes, we are also put into such a mission na sa umpisa ay parang malabong tanggapin natin. We would kind-a ask, why of all, tayo ang binibigyan ng “parang mahirap” na mission na di natin alam  kung ano ang mga dapat gawin at kung paano uumpisahan, lalo na at di rin natin alam kung anong pagtanggap ang mapapala natin sa paghihirapan natin kasi we might also be doing the right thing, the wrong way. Yet, the best question is, “where do we begin?” And the best answer is “deep within”! Yes, the passion that’s within will START-UP THE MISSION! There may be some inhibitions, but we just need to “let go of what we seem to just know” and “let God take-over” while we give out the best of what we have.  At the outset, if we will strive to fulfil our mission with whatever little of ourselves that we can extend,  we would soon be one with Jesus in this pick-up line para sa mga taong imi-mission out natin:“Gusto namin maging karpintero..Para makagawa kami ng tulaypapunta sa puso nyo!” -- Jsunset

Let’s also Start Crafting our OWN MASTERPIECE!

WE ARE GOD’S WORKMANSHIP!
He brought us here for a purpose.
We only need to unlock our uniqueness
while combining the different colors – the various  experiences
we’ve been through  which defines the person that we’ve become.

Prof Gail Montero: Move! ... the Simplest Solution!: All that it takes is for us to strive to manage even when things are difficult.   We are dead in sin and yet God comes to heal us ... ... "True Character is who you are and what you do -- even when no one is watching you!"

Move! ... the Simplest Solution!

All that it takes is for us to strive to manage
even when things are difficult.

We are dead in sin and yet God comes to heal us ...
We are impatient, yet God reaches out to us!

How would you like to be reminded that the Passion of Jesus Christ is to heal people?
However, how humbly would we recognize that the more God is reaching out to us,
the more that we weave our way far from Him and even hide away to tolerate our guilt?

@ The Feast with Bro Jon Escoto, our dear Feast Builder,  I've just had a lot of realizations which I'd feel too bothered to just keep to myself.

Several lines crashed in ... how merciful God is, that in Jeremiah 13:17 He faithfully assures: "I will give you back your health and heal the wound..."

Vulnerable as we are, we tend to take care of the "hurts" which hinder us from enjoying our body as the TEMPLE of GOD. The more God intends to clean us up, the more that we allow ourselves to create clutters and the more that we give-in to our cravings, justifying that it's never really easy to change those habits which are already hard to break.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that "life is too short" to keep us MOVING just before it really ends. It's a natural tendency to complicate solutions when we are already pressed with time; but we thank God for this day that we are made to discover that The Simplest Solutions are the Healthiest Solutions!

We only need to discover the secret of the fountain of youth: this so called "telomerase" which all of us have in our bodies -- an enzyme that re-forms chromosome ends and prevents the shortening that usually limits the number of replications.

Simple Solutions? ... Bro Jon says that we make simple things complicated but as simple as things are, these three [3] Steps will increase "telomerase" in our body and the secret to increase health:

      Step 1:  Breathe
      Step 2:  Exercise
      Step 3:  Sleep

BREATHE.
A lot of people are sick of many things and because they don't breathe properly.
Others are sick because they tend to do lazy breathing ...."hihinga na lang, tamad pa!"
The air in our body costs us nothing but it can heal us.

     There are Types of Breathing:
          1.  Upper chest breathing
          2.  Middle chest breathing
          3.  Abdominal breathing/diaphragm breathing.
How the "baby breathes" is the proper way :)

What "real" breathing can do for you? Here are only some:
1. You increase your blood & lymph circulation
2.  You detoxify your body
3.  You relax yourself
4.  You gain steady energy throughout the day
5.  You have great positive moods(s)

EXERCISE.
Best thing to start our day? We can do this Prayer Exercise during our Quiet Time with God.  This works best with Instrumental background music:
Inhale God's love; exhale mans stress
Inhale God's power; exhale all fears
Inhale God's overwhelming presence; exhale hatred
Inhale God's healing; exhale sin and unforgiveness.

Then, as Bro Jon jokes about, "Ano ang ginagawa mo pag wala kang ginagawa?"
We should EXERCISE -- do Physical Exercise!!
We have to take note that we need 10 thousand steps of walking a day, for us to be able to exercise properly!  If we don't exercise, our joints and muscles become stiff -- and this is not actually a sign of aging! It aches because we are not using it properly. What we don't use, we lose! 1.5 % of our muscles break down because we don't use it capably.

This bothers me: Our heart should normally beat at a required rate per minute as per studies; yet, because we don't exercise, we don't live up the rate we should -- and yes, it makes our body complain!

We may consider these added research on its benefits if we don't really want to endure our own complaints:
1.  Exercise reduces our stress
2.  ... boosts  "happy chemicals"
3.  ... improves self-confidence
4.  ... alleviates anxiety
5.  ... increases "brain power"
6.  ... sharpens memory
7.  ... inspire others.

SLEEP.
Sleep is not just down time.  When we sleep, our body actually works hard.  It is hard work -- for during sleep, the brain is creating memories and insights.  The body is recuperating & re-calibrating. When we sleep our body gathers hormones which fight diseases.

This has been the habitual thing I normally deprive myself of, specially when I have long list of "things -to-do". But today, I just had to give myself some sort of reproaching while I can feel that Bro Jon's message strikes through me.

And so yes, these Tips, I'll really have to take into account to give myself that BEST SLEEP ever:
1.  Stick to a sleep schedule
2.  Sleep before midnight
3.  Avoid taking drinks with stimulants like coffee
4.  Don't eat large meals and meat at night specially after 8pm
5.  Avoid technology in your room
6.  No lights should be turned on while you sleep; the blacker it is, its better to the body
The hormone called melatonin is not released if there is light in your eye lids which should          supposedly work with our biological clock by telling our brain when it is time to sleep.

What struck me? When Bro Jon emphasized that: "the lack of proper sleep is the devil's way to keep us far from God!" The worries, guilt...pains and hurts of the past -- even of the day, which linger in our memory and which keep us awake because we still want to accomplish more, should all be lifted up to God by meditating and speaking with our Shepherd and enjoying our ACT of FAITH as we entrust NEW MORNINGS to God.

Summing it up, no one will ever decide to MOVE ON with these healthy solutions than US. God has given us so much gift, the only part we should take is GRAB! -- then soon, prove our difference as God's Biggest Winner. :)

"True Character is who you are and what you do -- even when no one is watching you!"

It's a Gift to Choose to be Silent

"Let us thank God that we can afford to Smile because we have patience.
... and that we have patience to make us smile"

God has given us gifts which we do not even appreciate.
That gift of hope which does not disappoint ...
That gift of character which we should supposedly nurture ...
That gift of wellness which makes us enjoy everything -- but which we just take for-granted!

True enough,
Sometimes all that we would like to wish for is just to be normal...and not get sick at all...
It's such an awe that those who are sick
are the ones who appreciate that they still have the opportunity to get healed.
yet, such a dismay that those who are "normal" are too impatient with a lot of things.
They easily get annoyed with unpleasant smell ...
They straightforwardly flare up with unlikable comments ...
and the worst, they don't care if they already become disrespectful
when somebody cares to tell them that their reaction sores much more!

@ The Feast's Celebration of the Holy Trinity Sunday,
Rev. Fr. Tony Velasco concluded:
"Its almost a mortal sin if we IMPATIENT!

"Kasalanan na tayo ay maging mainitin ang ulo;
Kasalanan ang maging mainisin;
Kasalanan ang maging magagalitin
 sa mga maliliit na bagay."

Its a gift if we choose to be silent instead of impatiently REACTING

We can even boast of our afflictions -- only if we want to show that we have God in our life :)

“Grasp that Gift…”

How many of the things that you know do you FULLY understand?

Are you that type who easily gets the picture which others find difficult to interpret?
Or are you most of the time that last person to identify with others when things are up?

What do you usually do when you don’t understand?
Do you worry much and think a lot?
OR … you just shrug your shoulders and care less?

Whether an architect could come up with a good plan or not, would depend upon his ability to visualize what his client wants; yet he should understand all other structures & relevant recommendations – along with a TEAM to be able to produce an effective blueprint.

Today, Jesus calls us to a certain state of discernment as we commemorate The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity where in the readings, the Father creates with wisdom that He wants us to achieve His Plan of Salvation; while the Son works to glorify His Father; and the Spirit will bring to completion, the work of the Father and of the Son.

When I was a child, I loved doing that sign “in the name of the Father, of the Son & of the Holy Spirit” although it confused me “how many Gods we have?”. When in High School I made every effort to read the Bible on my own, I hoped to understand what explains doing such sign with those three characters; yet, I was instead made to discover – not the answer to my query – but “a certain kind of relationship” to which I never afforded to cast any speck of doubt. I was instead made to experience a life of difference having God’s messages  which were not really as clear as the water, but which built a temple deep within my being.

Just as He told me then, He speaks again …
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now…”John 16:12

The meaning? -- still ambiguous; mystery is still intact!  Yet, now that I’m already a Mom who wants to be a part of the lives of our kids even if I’m no longer around, I eloquently understand why God still needed to send the Holy Spirit even if Jesus has already done all the “coaching & modeling” that was instructed of Him. “Ganon pala talaga, if you have that love in your heart, ‘di ganon kadaling basta umalis na lang. Kailangan siguraduhin mong naituro mo lahat ng kailangan nilang matutunan. Kailangan mapaalalahanan mo sila ng mga dapat nilang gawin kapag sila na lang. And, just to be so sure na di sila makakalimot, ibibilin mo pa sila sa mga taong magpapaintindi sa kanila ng mga di pa nila naintindihan sa ngayon. “

The father, the mother and the children … is the team who should carry out the Architect’s blueprint!  Of each, there may be some messages which we may not understand at the moment.  To worry much and think a lot wouldn’t be a wise shift! But most of all, to just shrug our shoulders and care less should never be an option!  We should MOVE instead, and grasp any of the gifts of the Holy Spirit: [1] wisdome, [2] understanding, [3] counsel/right judgement, [4] fortitude/courage, [5] knowledge, [6] piety/reverence: deep sense of respect for the Church, [7] fear of the Lord/wonder & awe for us to be the Biggest Winner! Can We Really Un-learn Love?

profgail67.wordpress.com
How can we just leave and turn away?

While you've been expecting things to level up, it's just a distraught that all of a sudden, you are left with no other choice than mend all by your self because the other half of what you used to have has just opted to turn away :( For whatever reason, that special feeling and grand decision that you used to commit yourself to, has surprisingly given up to hold-on. It used to grow, and you both nurtured it, built you world around it ... but what happened along the way? -- just what was it that came up? Can you really just UN-LEARN that affection which made both of you so strong for such love all throughout those trying years? There could be those hurries and flurries which could win its way to ruin relationships -- yet, it's more than sad if you would permit yourself to be carried away by those pessimism and allow the other person to suffer your indecision. Sometimes, we just need to be real careful of the things that we are trying to UNlearn today, for you may never know that it could have been the greatest learning that would really complete you in the near future -- yet, because you opted to turn your back from it today, it might be too late to realize how wrong you've been  -- 'coz somebody came along just before you decided to RE-LEARN :(

Sometimes, we have to “keep distance…”

“I want to pick you up each time you fall, I want to cheer you up each time you frown, I want to ease you each time you’re stressed, I want to calm you down each time you flare up, I want to clear out your mind from bugs when you think that people are against you…”

“I intend to teach you the wisdom that you need when loads are heavy, I intend to make you feel that I am just here in support of the good things that you do, I intend to save you from committing mistakes when you think you seem so right…”

“…BUT, your reactions, your ways of thinking and ways of feeling never allow me. Your justifications keep on pushing me away.  Your self-centered beliefs has created the wall that hinders you from seeing and from realizing -- that all that I intended, and all that I wanted is to help you become the person that God wants you to be.”

“Nevertheless, how I still wanted to give you a hug just for you to know that things will soon be fine and for you to feel that despite the pain that you’ve inflicted in me because most of the time you misunderstood me, still, I will keep on searching for ways ‘till you eventually understand, because I know, deep within my heart that YOU ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS.”

“There may be times when I will have to keep distance, to give you the chance to listen to my silence and make you look within, hoping that you would grab the opportunity to reflect on things and to see the difference when you decide to also look up and ask if I would still be back so that you could cope and make up.”

“This is never easy, but because the Holy Spirit keeps on working in me, I will also never give up on you, my child…’till that day you’ll eventually let go of your pride and let your FAITH in God lead you closer to Him  .”

These lines, I have personally composed for my kids and for the youths of today’s time. I am pretty sure that most parents would also want to boost these lines to their kids, specially those who feel the intensity of manifesting the love when we forgive despite the pain and in never giving up, notwithstanding the difficulty through the force of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of building a “church” in every child.

In recollection, I have several times told my students that such “church” is actually our “personal relationship with Jesus”. I personally feel that we should be channels of this personal relationship which we could sample-out to our kids so that they may witness for themselves the difference of a life in God.#

Prepare today for Tomorrow :)

To them who has been with us during those growing up years ...

Let's not wait 'till tomorrow
before we'll run out of time
preparing for something
that would make them feel great.
Not any amount would replace
those silent sacrifices ...
Just the "most special" plan
you could ever come up with,
to make her feel
that tomorrow is her
Special Mom's Day :)

"All is well in a Zip-Life Ride"

the bravest ride ever
with my husband Pete Montero

Have you ever had a "zip line" experience?

Would you trust the crews when they say that it is safe and stable to go through the LONGEST and the HIGHEST Zip-line in Asia specially that you're just about to do it for the very first time?

Oh yes, you'd 100% doubt it!
Just the mere thought of falling  when the cables and harness accidentally break and the slider malfunctions, you wouldn't really dare to risk your future, specially that you still have three kids looking forward to grow up with you and that you have a husband to whom you promised "walang iwanan".

But, if and only if you would strive to gather the courage to give it a try, and if you'll TRUST the words of the crews that "all will be well", plus if you'll learn to look up and whisper a silent prayer "I entrust this to you, Lord!" while going through the strong cables, believe me, you will successfully conquer the 1,250m and 1,100m long and the 500m high Zip-line @ Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, Hoyohoy, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.

Sometimes, we tend to be a "doubting Thomas" in the gospel of John 20:19-31. We wouldn't believe unless we've seen and experienced. Just like Thomas before he finally became a full pledged disciple -- "He would only believe what he had heard about Jesus’ appearance if he could touch the wounds in Jesus' body."

Just as Jesus promised, "the people who believed without seeing or touching will be truly blessed".  The life that we have nowadays is just like a zip-line ride where we would tend to fear and be afraid to risk because of the gigantic coward thoughts which hinder us from enjoying an exciting and challenging journey.  But if we will only trust without yet seeing for ourselves and if we will strive to break through our doubts, we would eventually prove that God is always fulfilling His promise that He will keep us blessed.

We will 100% enjoy and conquer our fears -- all because we believed that ALL IS WELL!#

"Everybody needs a hobby :)" -- Tony Stark

There are times when the things that we do don't seem to matter at all.
-- times when we've already spent much  on something,
yet it seemed that we haven't gained anything at all!

But then wait, 'been playing with these thoughts since that big screen experience...
God would not have allowed us to spend time on something which would just mean nothing afterall.
In God's time, all things come to pass but for no intended purpose.

Everybody needs a hobby -- that thing which you exert effort to, which you also work hard on, yet, you enjoy doing -- just enjoy doing it!

Soon, those things which seem to be "non-sense" for now, will marvel in the days to come, giving you an "awesome sight" ever!

Just as long as what you love to do is not anything negative nor disgusting at any rate, people would then realize that you've just been silently AWESOME!

“We Create our own demons!” — Tony Stark

Neglected, “taken no notice of”, ignored?

Then you’ve waited just as promised — for “20 minutes”, then on to an hour, from dusk to dawn, days to weeks, months to years?

Until you already allowed yourself to create that abhorrence deep within you! — that “fierce” you did not set limit to!

Yes, just because you felt “neglected, “taken no notice of”, ignored” — you’ve created that “rant and rave” within you!

So there you go, crafted that story which destroyed not only millions of others & different sorts — but most specially your own SELF! That unfulfilled promise generated “rage & anger” instead of “chance & hope”.

As 'been aired in that big screen, that “20 minute” slack can invite us anytime to a whole day of despair, which, if taken cared of, might induce us to create another character for vengeance!

Let’s cast our emotions positively strong!

“Holding onto the Art of Letting Go”

credits to http://paradox/conniejoy.files.wordpress.com

What a PARADOX … HOLD-ON, yet LET GO!

“Mas madalas kesa minsan, saka lang natin sinasabi lahat ng maganda at mabuting nagawa ng tao kapag di nya na ito naririnig. Saka lang natin naaalala mga maganda nyang sinabi kapag di na sya nagsasalita. Saka lang natin pinipilit baguhin ang mga bagay na pinanghinaan na nya ay di pa din natin ipinagbago kapag di na nya makikita na nagbago na tayo.”

In the Gospel of John 12:20-33, God wants us to realize that in  real life scenario, we are actually tasked to mission-out like Jesus; only that, we do not recognize and would not even want to partake in this task just because, IT’S NEVER EASY making others realize their mistakes while they misinterpret our intentions. Much as we could avoid these chances, we would rather divert our attention to other easier things – that is, if we would only have a choice.

Yes, but then no!  Among all others, yes, parents may have the choice not to partake in Jesus’ difficult mission; but then, they can never really say NO if they really love the family whom they committed to raise.  Along the way, parents has to endure every painful complaints, every justifiable and unreasonable tantrums, misinterpreted intentions, intended & unintended disrespects, hard-headedness, plus in effect, misunderstandings between parents themselves despite the both good intentions yet wrong choice of words or chances of bringing things up maybe, and other causes of stress and chaos. Difficult as we could ever imagine,  these scenarios could lead to “silent cries” because we get so hurt.

Yet, as Jesus said in John 12:24 unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” -- a mom & a dad should let go of such pain and instead, hold-on & never give up fulfilling their mission to raise their kids until they become the person that they should be when its already their turn to continue the responsibility and commitment – the way they were trained within the family – their training ground – the same thing that Jesus did to His chosen Disciples when He coached them the roles they should get through just before His earthly mission ended.

To my hope, may this reflection teach the young generation to HOLD ON to the responsibility which they should have learned from their training grounds. LET GO of their tendencies to justify some not so good actuations; yet, hold on to whatever they have started good and let go of the impending emotions that would hinder them from producing the FRUIT which their parents should see while they still have all the chance to enjoy the reward of their kids’ willingness to LISTEN not only with their ears, but much with their HEART!

In the same way, may this Gospel challenge us, adults, to learn “the art of letting go and letting God!” so that we could maximize the chances of still bearing much fruit --  while pondering within: unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit”! #

I Thank God for this Opportunity

This morning is great! ...just great!

God never allows us to stop exploring unless He is able to bring us where He wants us to be.  Every prayer time, every quiet time we have with Him, He cherishes so much,  while He feels the desires of our heart -- and  so,  He brings us there, where we could get the blessings that we wanted to receive.

I've spending days and nights, exploring and finding means, finding every single opportunity which God would give -- until I discovered this one; and even more just last night.

Just this very minute, I am into that confirmation: "We just need to work things out, find ways, keep stickin' around so patiently -- so that soon, God will see how determined we are with what we want -- and voila, suddenly, He would make us feel "THIS IS IT!" -- God's answer to what we desired!"
'got great morning too?
you've got to share it and see that "the best is yet to come" ... just as our Feast Builder Bro Jon Escoto would usually quote! :)
many will be blessed to hear from you :)
